Based on Sherryl Woods’ novels, Chesapeake Shores is a multi-generational family drama starring Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives), Meghan Ory (Once Upon A Time), Treat Williams (Everwood) and Diane Ladd (Wild At Heart) is set to begin filming in the Qualicum Beach / Parksville area.
Vancouver Island North Film Commission (INfilm) has been working closely with the production team to identify locations and production logistics.
“The production will begin filming May16th running through to July 28th confirms regional film commissioner” Joan Miller. “We are very pleased the production chose our region as the background for the television series, the benefits will reach far outside the filming locations. Thousands of rooms nights, restaurants, equipment rentals, extras, local hire and local locations will be sourced throughout the region. The economic impact will be felt from Nanaimo north to Campbell River.”
Three extras casting calls have been scheduled around the region for the May 3rd, 4th and 5th offering opportunities to everyone within the area to try out. Additionally a Motion Picture Orientation Workshop is scheduled for Parksville the weekend of May 14th & 15th.
