Zeballos

This historic gold mining town that serves as a jumping off point for kayakers heading into the protected waters and islands in rugged and remote Kyuquot sound. Wildlife, old mining artifacts, great fishing, and a chance to strike it rich panning for gold are just a few of its attractions.
Drive north on the Inland Island Highway. A 1.5-hour drive pass Campbell River and Sayward takes you to the Zeballos turnoff. You will then travel on a 42 kilometres stretch of gravel road. Water taxi services are available.
